Some of the Therapy We Offer

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a therapeutic intervention created for trauma. The process involves bilateral stimulation in the form of eye movement, tapping, or the use of machinery to create physical stimulation. EMDR is not recommended for everyone, but has been demonstrated to be effective in as little as 8 sessions. EMDR helps to instill healthy coping skills, change thought patterns, and reduce trauma and anxiety responses to triggers.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a therapeutic modality originally created for borderline personality disorder, but is effective for many different concerns including substance use, anger, anxiety, and more. DBT is rooted in Buddhist concepts, cognitive behavioral interventions, and skill building. The basic concepts in DBT are wise mind (the balance between logic and emotion), objectivity, mindfulness, and acceptance. A large focus of DBT is distress tolerance which seeks to reduce reactivity and increase emotional control.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy incorporates the mind and body and seeks to build connection. Somatic work utilizes physical movement and psychotherapy. Somatic therapy takes talk therapy a step further by incorporating experiential exploration of sensation, emotion, and feelings. Somatic therapy may include art, meditation, movement, or imagery.
